My computer does daily scans and has upgrated anti-virus software, plus windows defender, but are there any other helpful ways to prevent viruses?

yes never open attatchments from emails addresses you don't recognize and be very wary of downloading exe files from sources you don't trust, such as limewire. also make sure you keep your operating system up to date using windows update. you can also use a firewall if you don't have one. zone alarm is quite good and free, much better than the sp2 firewall.

Yup - do not use internet explorer, download firefox and use that instead.|||Get a Mac for your next computer. Macs don't get sick.|||I left the answering to everybody first, they are all very good although too much of any thing, isn't that great either.
