My laptop is going extremely slow and i have to restart the windows explorer every few minutes pleas
I use a dell laptop which had vista installed. i use both IE and firefox. i have around 2GB of RAM i have a lot of songs etc on it but have never had a problem with that before. after a few minutes regardless of what i am doing i have to restart the windows explorer therefore anything i have open other than a webpage or word etc is closed. i am having to use my guest account as on my own it takes around 20 minutes to start working again. and then its onl a few minutes before it will stop again. therefore its difficult for me to delete any unwanted programs etc to clear up the memory. if i can avoid reformating it would be great since i cannot stay on my files long enough to make a back up of them.
antivirus is installed but for a short period didnt have any protection since i couldnt access my own account propaly now i do again and it doesnt look like it has any virus's as far as i know.
please help because im really at a loss of what to do.

Well, delete every pics, song, everything in your documents, even the files, then delete shorcuts. Then check if there is any virus, Go to my computer check for details,then wait for 5 minutes,and close the laptop for about 30 minutes,then you open and have fun, :) and if this way didnt work, u have to go to a computer shop and tell them to fix it.
