Im trying to install mcafee plus on my laptop but it keeps saying norton is still there but ive alre
uninstalled norton and when i try to put mcsfee on the it says norton has been detected and mcafee will only download for me the firewall security scan and spyware not the main things i need like the antivirus i dont know how to get the norton off since i dont have the disk anymore can someone help me or should i try and describe the situation much better

Click start-click my computer- click local drive (assuming C: ) - click program files - RIGHT click on any folders with "Norton" or "symantec"-drop menu appears-click delete - after your done restart your computer. Also look up on the Internet and download crap cleaner -It's free - Install it - after you install it run the fix issues button and it will remove the rest of the of the "crap" (from registry). Keep CC on there I highly recommend this little program . I see the answers above me - Do this and you should'nt have a problem|||Ok. Norton IS still there. The norton folder will have to be manualy deleted. Go to computer, click on your main drive and then look for it in program files. Youll also have to delete the symantech folder as well. Then use disk cleanup in your system tools to finish the job. After all that, try to install mcafree again.|||I agree with likeitis. Ccleaner is an excellent program and it's small it's free and it works.|||there is lot of problem with the norton go into windows file and check whether norton folder still is there uninstall through add and remove program if this doesnt work install the norton and again uninstall it it will halp u if nothing works better restore your window or install a new window
