Can someone explain exactly what a trojan is please? Are they ever innocent, or do they ALL need to be quarantined if found with McAffee?

If a trojan wasn't in someway harmful, it wouldn't actually be a trojan. Trojan is any program that appears like another helpful program but is actually harming or secretly controlling your computer. It is named after the Trojan Horse in Greek legend that was given as a gift to the city of Troy during a siege, but actually contained soldiers that left the horse at night and opened the gates.

While I suppose it is technically possible for McAffee to be wrong about its analysis of a program as a trojan, I just don't see that as very likely to be the case. I'd quarantine the trojan if I were you.|||it has to be quarantined for always for a safety reason coz trojan is still part of the virus family so better be safe.|||Short answer - No. They always need to be quarantined and removed.
