Computer is doing it's own thing?
I had a slow running computer ,I added new memory to be @ 512.Now it seems like the computer is running it's self.The screen seems to flicker when I go from one email account to another.What's wrong? I called gateway & they sent me 2 cards for 1024 mb (533mhz)sdram.Should I remove the 512 & add the 533.They seem to be 1GB.are the gb & the ram 2 different things? I also uninstalled my verizon security suite ,since I have mcaffee.

I'm assuming your have a decent CPU since your computer is using DDR2.
I think the flickering is caused by a slow graphics card, wrong drivers for the graphics card, or if you're not using a graphics card, your IGP may be using only a few megabytes of RAM. Or maybe your monitor might be broken.
Try connecting your monitor on a different PC, just to make sure it is not broken. Try updating your Video and Motherboard drivers, see if that helps.
