Do I really need Norton Internet Security?
My Norton Internet Security 2007's subscription (expires in 30 days) is up for renewal. I have used Norton for over five years, before that I had McAffee. Earlier this year, I got a trojan on my system WHILE NORTON WAS RUNNING 24/7 IN THE BACKGROUND. When I spoke to their tech support about removing it, they informed me I would have to pay a Sr. technician $100 or more to remove it. Needless to say, I was outraged, so I searched online and found MaxSecure's Spyware Detector. I think the price was $29/$39. I installed it and it removed the trojan completely in less than 10 minutes! Since then it has been keeping my system clean. I kept Norton running as well, however. At this point, I'm wondering if I even need Norton Internet Security, the upgrade subscription or their latest product . Techies out there, what do you think? Thanks loads.
