Getting a rash of Messages from Friends they didn't send, usually it is to "view my photos
With a link to click on. I did once from a good friend then it asked for my Yahoo password (which I haven't been dumb 'enuff to give). When I contact the friend they are unaware these messages are going out. Assume they have some type of virius. Most say have up to date scanning program. Any ideas on help I can give them to find a solution? Or for me if I catch this thing? I use McAffee Internet Security on my computers, with AdAware and SpyBot run every few days. So far I don't think I have had any problems. What are these messages doing ? Trying to get passwords? More?

IT IS A PASSOWRD STEALING FAKE YAHOO PAGE FOR SURE 鈥?which e-mails filled info to a thief. GOOD THINKING !!! Geocities NEVER ask to log in to view it鈥檚 context :

Besides, indeed page probably contains malicious code which infects most likely through scripting. By looking source code of page it is possible to determine thief e-mail address to which passwords are being mailed (could fish it out if provided with link)
Messages which are sent are generated by Yahoo IM worm which propagates itself by sending IMs.
Bad news about it is that there are some reports that鈥檚 some worm variants are rootkit based. Rootkit unfortunately are externally difficult to remove,... in many cases impossible... You could always give a shot to regular online scans first:
