I cnat remove virus... i think?

Yesterday, A friend of mine gave me a bootleg copy of the 300 movie, from his hard disk to mine. I watched it on windows media player and it worked fine. But today every time i turned on the computer, a blue screen pops up with a message about BAD POOL. Thus I used the xp disk to repair windows and is now working fine. I know for sure the movie is infected but my Mcaffee virus protector cant detect it. Any way to remove it without removing the movie?

First of all, a movie file cannot be infected by a virus. A virus must be contained in an executable program and mpgs/avis are not executables.

Secondly, assuming the message you were receiving said "BAD POOL CALLER", that isn't likely to have been caused by a virus. This error is usually caused by hardware conflicts, so it's likely purely coincidental that you received this error after watching the movie.

Finally, you should install AVG Anti-Virus (http://free.grisoft.com/). It is free and much more dependable than anything from McAfee or Norton.|||teach you to watch illegal movies get avast and a-sqared and when it find the file you have to delete it|||You cant remove it if the virus is written into the movie. Dont watch the movie anymore and just buy the DVD.. its only $12.00 at Best Buy.|||You must first update your McAffee's virus definition, and after that, scan again your system or the drive/folder you want to be clean.
