McAfee Security - Help i cant access anything?

We just installed McAffee Security on our home Pc and now we cannot access the internet or limewire. I have been reading past answers in relation to this software and wish now that i had have opted for the free software.

Is it worthwhile uninstalling the McAfee software. I am reading nothing good about it and have had nothing but problems since we installed in 2 days ago.

When I bought my new XP a couple years ago--the salesman talked me into the McAffey security suite--it takes alot of power out of ones computor and I had alot of problems and one day I lost my address book and some other programs, I called Tech service and I told her what happening and she said "You can do as you like but I would remove it! If you want to keep it maybe we can tie it down by disabling some components." I said I would remove it, and she said be sure you get it ALL out. I took it out in pieces and put AVG free in and never had anymore problems and I got my address book back. Works great.

Having gone through this a couple of years ago, here are my suggestions:

If you have five hours handy, you can configure McAffee Security to let you on the Internet and Limewire. This is if you're careful about keeping security maintained in other areas. Otherwise, just set everything to basically no security (this will take about ten minutes).
