When booting up computer and clicking on Explorer common files appear first?

Google

When I boot up my computer and click on Explorer my files appear on the screen, then I can close that and then can click on Explorer. How can I get rid of this and could this be a virus. I check and I do have my home page to be http://www.yahoo.com.

Can't figure out why this has started doing this. I ran 2 virus scans, McAffee and Webroot, it's all o.k. and did a disk cleanup and removed my cookies, temp files. It's still there!

Any help would be appreciated. I checked on Help and Security with Microsoft and it seems others have this problem too. But advice from forum was too complicated for me.

It seems to me that you are clicking on Windows Explorer instead of Internet Explorer. Go to Start, All Programs, and right click on Internet Explorer. Select Send To and choose Desktop to create a new shortcut directly to your web browser. Hopefully that will fix the problem.
