Why do SOME email first appear in normal format then quickly change to one long line starting from t

They initially look like typical yahoo email letters several lines long then 2 seconds later its one long line going on & on if I keep scrolling to the right. I also have a problem filing some emails. Instead of going into my personal or school files I will get an advertisement for online colleges or a dating service. I use McAffee, scan frequently, don't open bulk. Help is this some sort of worm??
